Start with a small shipment or an established operation. There is no minimum volume. Tell us what you sell so we can confirm the handling, space and shipping you actually need.
What will my first month cost?
Example: 500 single-item orders under 5 lb × $2.00 full-service handling = $1,000. At $0.25 per mailer add $125; two full billable pallet-months add $50 and one inbound pallet adds $20. Total: $1,195 BEFORE postage, returns or extra work.
Examples use standard storage in the first three months. Long-stay pallet rates are $28/month in months 3–6 and $32/month after six months. Your written quote separates receiving, storage, handling, materials and shipping. Build your own estimate.
Why are there two handling prices?
Under 5 lb, Lean FBA is $0.50/unit and Lean FBM is $1.75/order when goods arrive pre-packed and ready to label. Full-service handling is $0.75/FBA unit or $2.00/FBM order; materials and postage are separate. These are service tiers, not automatic volume discounts.

Can you handle my products and platform?
Share your product type, packed dimensions and weight, sales platform and expected volume. Small batches and returns-only enquiries are welcome. Batteries, liquids, food, supplements, temperature-sensitive, hazardous or oversized items need acceptance and handling requirements confirmed before you ship.
For Shopify, Amazon, Walmart or another platform such as Amboras, tell us how orders and inventory are exchanged. The team confirms the connection or file workflow before onboarding; a platform name alone does not guarantee a supported integration.
How do I send inventory?
- Send your SKU list, dimensions, weights and carton/pallet count.
- Receive the written scope, rates and product-acceptance confirmation.
- Confirm account setup, labeling and receiving instructions with the team before dispatch.
- Send shipment details and tracking; agree the first prep job or order workflow.

What about shipping and storage dimensions?
For a shipping estimate, send origin and destination ZIP codes, packed dimensions, weight, parcel count and desired delivery speed. Handling prices do not include carrier postage. Storage is charged only by carton or pallet. Bin and shelf storage is included in our standard pick-and-pack rate, with no separate charge. Send product dimensions and quantities so the team can confirm usable space, availability and the applicable carton or pallet storage rate in writing.

What DTC fulfillment costs at KAK
Standard direct-to-consumer order fulfillment is $2.00 per order for anything up to 5 lb, and it climbs in three flat steps as packages get heavier. That rate covers pick, pack, and ship — including standard packaging materials. Nothing is buried underneath it: a 1-item order pays the per-order rate, and a 5-item bundle in the same box adds $0.25 × 5 = $1.25.

Take a brand shipping 300 orders a month, storing 10 pallets, and processing a normal trickle of returns. Here's the real math, using only the rates above:

How your orders move through the Houston warehouse
Inventory gets checked in, logged, and made sellable before it ever ships. Here's the sequence:
- Inbound arrives at 6117 Long Dr; we check it in against your packing list and assign it a real storage location.
- Stock is logged into KAK WMS with lot number and expiration-date tracking if your product needs it.
- Orders sync automatically from your storefront — Shopify, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, and the rest feed the same live queue.
- We pick from actual on-hand inventory (not a spreadsheet snapshot), pack at the published per-order rate, and add your inserts or branded materials if you've supplied them.
- Postage is bought at pass-through carrier rates — USPS, UPS, or FedEx, whichever fits that package.
- Tracking pushes back to your storefront automatically.
- Anything in the system before the 2pm CT cutoff, Monday–Saturday, ships the same day.
What brands actually ask before switching 3PLs
We get the same itemized list from almost every new brand. Here's the honest version, upfront:
- Minimums and fees: no minimum order volume, no minimum spend, no minimum SKU count, no setup fee.
- Contracts: month-to-month, no cancellation penalty.
- New brands with a small first shipment: yes — a brand launching with a few hundred units is a normal onboarding, not an exception.
- Receiving: $20/pallet ($5/carton). Standard inbound before the 2pm CT cutoff is typically checked in the same day; large or complex shipments (mixed SKUs, floor-loaded containers) get a specific ETA once you send the manifest.
- Storage billing: $25/pallet per month — you pay for the fraction of the month you actually use, not a flat monthly minimum.
- Lot and expiration tracking: available in KAK WMS for products that need it (supplements, cosmetics, food-adjacent goods).
- Per-order pricing for small orders: a 1-item order pays the flat per-order rate by weight; a multi-item order adds $0.25 × the item count.
- Preassembly vs. pick-on-demand: standard bundles are picked and packed per order at the flat rate above — nothing is force-preassembled. If you want SKUs kitted into a single unit ahead of time, that's available and custom-quoted.
- Packaging and branded inserts: standard packaging materials start at $0.25 per order. Custom inserts, thank-you cards, and branded mailers are custom-quoted — tell us the specs and you'll have a number in 24 hours.
- Carrier mix and surcharges: USPS, UPS, and FedEx rates passed through at cost, no markup, and no peak-season surcharges added on top.
- Returns: $1.50 per return, inspection included. Anything beyond standard inspection — restocking to a specific condition, disposal, photo documentation — tell us what you need and we'll quote it.
- Software and integrations: real-time inventory through KAK WMS, synced to Shopify, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Etsy, and Magento.
- Kitting, bundling, subscription boxes: available, custom-quoted based on your assembly specs.
- Freight and container receiving: container devanning, LTL freight, and white-glove handling are available, quoted per shipment at negotiated carrier cost.

One warehouse for DTC orders and Amazon FBA
Most brands aren't purely DTC or purely Amazon — they're both, and inventory drifts out of sync fast when it's split across two warehouses. Full-service FBA handling for units under 5 lb is $0.75/unit, including FNSKU labeling and prep labor. Materials are separate: polybag $0.20/unit and bubble wrap $0.20/unit when needed. Receiving, storage and outbound freight are separate. Lean label-ready units start at $0.50; heavier units use the published weight bands.
