Best FBA Prep Center for Small Amazon Sellers: The 2026 Checklist
Full disclosure up front: we run a prep center. This page tells you what any small seller should demand from one — no minimums, per-unit pricing, no contracts — and publishes our own numbers so you can hold us to the same standard you hold everyone else.

Built for small sellers — get your FBA prep quote
Tell us what you sell and your monthly volume. A real person replies within one business day with exact numbers.
Before you request a quote
Know the cost. Check the fit. Plan your first shipment.
Start with a small shipment or an established operation. There is no minimum volume. Tell us what you sell so we can confirm the handling, space and shipping you actually need.
What will my first month cost?
Example: 500 full-service FBA units under 5 lb × $0.75 = $375. If each needs a $0.20 polybag, add $100; one inbound pallet adds $20 and one full billable pallet-month adds $25. Total: $520 before outbound shipping or other requested work.
Examples use standard storage in the first three months. Long-stay pallet rates are $28/month in months 3–6 and $32/month after six months. Your written quote separates receiving, storage, handling, materials and shipping. Build your own estimate.
Why are there two handling prices?
Under 5 lb, Lean FBA is $0.50/unit and Lean FBM is $1.75/order when goods arrive pre-packed and ready to label. Full-service handling is $0.75/FBA unit or $2.00/FBM order; materials and postage are separate. These are service tiers, not automatic volume discounts.
Heavier items use different weight bands; over 15 lb or bulky items need a written quote. See the complete rate card.
Can you handle my products and platform?
Share your product type, packed dimensions and weight, sales platform and expected volume. Small batches and returns-only enquiries are welcome. Batteries, liquids, food, supplements, temperature-sensitive, hazardous or oversized items need acceptance and handling requirements confirmed before you ship.
For Shopify, Amazon, Walmart or another platform such as Amboras, tell us how orders and inventory are exchanged. The team confirms the connection or file workflow before onboarding; a platform name alone does not guarantee a supported integration.
How do I send inventory?
- Send your SKU list, dimensions, weights and carton/pallet count.
- Receive the written scope, rates and product-acceptance confirmation.
- Confirm account setup, labeling and receiving instructions with the team before dispatch.
- Send shipment details and tracking; agree the first prep job or order workflow.
Receiving location: 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087. Confirm inbound instructions before sending goods.
What about shipping and storage dimensions?
For a shipping estimate, send origin and destination ZIP codes, packed dimensions, weight, parcel count and desired delivery speed. Handling prices do not include carrier postage. Storage is charged only by carton or pallet. Bin and shelf storage is included in our standard pick-and-pack rate, with no separate charge. Send product dimensions and quantities so the team can confirm usable space, availability and the applicable carton or pallet storage rate in writing.
After you enquire: a real person from our Houston team replies within one business day, confirms any missing details and sends itemized pricing. You can ask for a written quote without booking a sales call. Unsure of volume? Select “Not sure yet” in the quote form.
What “best” actually means when you’re small
The best FBA prep center for a small Amazon seller is the one that charges per unit, requires no minimums, and lets you leave any month without a penalty. Everything else — the software, the square footage, the sales pitch — comes after those three things.
We say that as operators, not bloggers. KAK Sourcing & Fulfillment is a Houston 3PL founded by Sohail Ahmed and Kanwar Khan, who have spent 7+ years building DTC fulfillment infrastructure. We prep and fulfill for 180+ ecommerce sellers out of a 32,000 sqft climate-controlled warehouse at 6117 Long Dr in Houston, and we’re reviewed on Trustpilot. There are no minimums here — you can start with a single unit.
Most “best prep center” roundups are written for brands moving serious monthly volume. This one is for sellers doing 200 to 2,000 — online arbitrage, retail arbitrage, and small private label. At that size, one hidden fee or one volume minimum changes your whole month. So instead of a ranked list of companies we’ve never worked inside, here is the checklist we’d use if we were you. Run every candidate through it. Including us.

The 8 things to demand before you ship a single carton
- Full-service FBA handling for units under 5 lb is $0.75/unit, including FNSKU labeling and prep labor. Materials are separate: polybag $0.20/unit and bubble wrap $0.20/unit when needed. Receiving, storage and outbound freight are separate. Lean label-ready units start at $0.50; heavier units use the published weight bands.
- Zero minimums. Many prep centers set monthly unit minimums or platform fees that quietly punish a slow sourcing month. You should be able to send one unit and pay for one unit. Our answer: no minimum volume, spend, or SKU count. Start with a single unit.
- No contract, no setup fee. A prep center that needs a long-term commitment to keep you is telling you something. Our answer: month-to-month, no setup fee, no cancellation penalty. If we stop earning the business, you leave.
- A written cutoff time. “Fast turnaround” is a vibe; a cutoff is a promise. Slow receiving stocks you out and burns your ad spend on a dead listing. Our answer: inventory in before 2pm CT, Monday through Saturday, is prepped the same day.
- Storage billed for what you use. Monthly storage billing charges you a full month for a pallet that shipped out on the 3rd. Our answer: $25 per pallet, billed monthly, so you pay for the fraction of the month you actually used — in climate-controlled space, which matters in Houston summers.
- Shipping labels at cost. Some 3PLs treat postage as a profit center. Ask directly whether carrier rates are marked up. Our answer: discounted USPS, UPS, and FedEx rates passed through at cost. No markup, ever.
- Liability in writing. If a forklift crushes your carton, who pays? Get the insurance number before there’s an incident. Our answer: coverage up to $500,000 per occurrence, and we are fully liable for our own handling.
- An address you can walk into. A prep center that won’t let you see the floor is asking for blind trust with your inventory. Our answer: 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087. Walk-ins welcome with 24 hours’ notice, Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm CT. The building is monitored 24/7.
Our published rates, so you can compare line by line
Here is everything we charge a small FBA seller. If a service isn’t on this table, it’s custom-quoted — we don’t bury fees in an onboarding PDF.
| Service | Rate | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| FBA prep | $0.75 per unit | Full-service FBA handling for units under 5 lb is $0.75/unit, including FNSKU labeling and prep labor. Materials are separate: polybag $0.20/unit and bubble wrap $0.20/unit when needed. Receiving, storage and outbound freight are separate. Lean label-ready units start at $0.50; heavier units use the published weight bands. |
| Receiving | $20 per pallet ($5 per carton) | Charged on every inbound |
| Pallet storage | $25 per pallet, monthly | Climate-controlled; billed for the fraction of the month used |
| Returns processing | $1.50 per return | Inspection included |
| FBM / multichannel orders | $2.00 per order up to 5 lb | Pick, pack, ship with packaging materials from $0.25; $2.75 for 5–8 lb, $4.00 for 8–15 lb, custom-quoted over 15 lb |
| Postage | At cost | Discounted USPS / UPS / FedEx rates passed through with no markup |
Kitting, bundling, subscription-box assembly, and custom inserts are available and custom-quoted — tell us your specs and you’ll have the number in 24 hours. Container devanning, LTL freight, and white-glove options are quoted per shipment at negotiated carrier cost. Full list at our price list and pricing page.
What a month actually costs at 300 and 1,000 units
A 300-unit month costs about $270 with us; a 1,000-unit month about $885. Here’s the arithmetic, using only the published rates above — check it yourself.
| Line item | 300 units / 1 pallet | 1,000 units / 3 pallets |
|---|---|---|
| FBA prep at $0.75/unit | $225.00 | $750.00 |
| Receiving at $20/pallet ($5/carton) | $20.00 | $60.00 |
| Storage at $25/pallet monthly (full month) | $25.00 | $75.00 |
| Month total | $270.00 | $885.00 |
| Effective cost per unit | ~$0.90 | ~$0.89 |
If Amazon sends back ten returns that month, add $15.00 at $1.50 per return, inspection included. If your pallets ship out to Amazon mid-month, the monthly billing means your storage line comes in under the figures above, not over.
Notice what’s not on the table: no setup fee, no minimums, no contract, no peak-season surcharge. When you compare quotes, ask each prep center to fill in this exact table. The blanks are where budgets die.
The RFQ questions small sellers send us — answered straight
Serious buyers now send itemized RFQs, and we’d rather answer the whole list in public than in forty separate email threads.
Volume, fees, and commitment
- Do you take new brands with ~500 units? Yes. No minimum volume, spend, or SKU count — a single unit is a real order to us.
- Setup, onboarding, software, or account-management fees? No setup fees — and no minimums, no contracts, no peak-season surcharges. Anything not on the published rate card is custom-quoted: tell us your specs and you’ll have the number in 24 hours.
- Contract or cancellation penalty? Neither. Month-to-month, leave whenever.
Receiving, storage, and tracking
- Receiving cost and time-to-available? $20 per pallet ($5 per carton). Inventory in before 2pm CT (Mon–Sat) is processed the same day — it doesn’t sit on a dock for a week.
- Storage billing basis? $25 per pallet billed monthly, climate-controlled. You never pay a full month for a pallet that left early.
- Lot and expiration tracking? Available — ask for it at onboarding if you sell topicals, supplements, or grocery.
Orders, bundles, and packaging
- Bundle pricing rules? Bundles are picked and packed per order at the flat per-order rates — we don’t force preassembly. If you want kits built ahead of time, kitting is available and custom-quoted.
- What packaging is included? Packaging materials are billed at cost: polybags and bubble wrap $0.20 for FBA prep, mailers from $0.25 for FBM orders. Branded inserts and thank-you cards are custom-quoted to your specs within 24 hours.
- Selling off Amazon too? The FBM rates cover Shopify, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Etsy, Magento, and Amazon FBM from the same inventory pool. Details on our 3PL warehouse service page.
Visibility and when something goes wrong
- Real-time inventory? Yes — the KAK WMS dashboard shows live counts, so you’re not emailing for a stock number before a restock decision.
- Error procedures? We carry insurance up to $500,000 per occurrence, and we’re fully liable for our own handling.
- Who do I actually talk to? Call +1 832 759 1368 or email sales@kaksourcing.com. Or use the contact page and come see the floor yourself.
Where we’re honest about fit
We’re not the right prep center for everyone, and pretending otherwise would undercut the whole checklist.
We’re in Houston. If your model depends on driving inventory to the warehouse yourself and you live in Ohio, a local center may serve you better even at a worse rate — run them through the eight demands above and take the one that passes. If your products need kitting, subscription-box assembly, or custom branded packaging, those are real services we offer, but they’re custom-quoted rather than on the flat-rate card; you’ll have exact numbers within 24 hours of sending specs, and we’d rather quote precisely than publish a teaser rate that doesn’t survive contact with your product.
What we will claim without hedging: on the things that decide a small seller’s month — per-unit pricing, no minimums, no contracts, same-day turnaround, storage billed monthly, labels at cost — the checklist is our operating model, not our marketing.
