Before you request a quote
Know the cost. Check the fit. Plan your first shipment.
Start with a small shipment or an established operation. There is no minimum volume. Tell us what you sell so we can confirm the handling, space and shipping you actually need.
What will my first month cost?
Example: 500 full-service FBA units under 5 lb × $0.75 = $375. If each needs a $0.20 polybag, add $100; one inbound pallet adds $20 and one full billable pallet-month adds $25. Total: $520 before outbound shipping or other requested work.
Examples use standard storage in the first three months. Long-stay pallet rates are $28/month in months 3–6 and $32/month after six months. Your written quote separates receiving, storage, handling, materials and shipping. Build your own estimate.
Why are there two handling prices?
Under 5 lb, Lean FBA is $0.50/unit and Lean FBM is $1.75/order when goods arrive pre-packed and ready to label. Full-service handling is $0.75/FBA unit or $2.00/FBM order; materials and postage are separate. These are service tiers, not automatic volume discounts.
Heavier items use different weight bands; over 15 lb or bulky items need a written quote. See the complete rate card.
Can you handle my products and platform?
Share your product type, packed dimensions and weight, sales platform and expected volume. Small batches and returns-only enquiries are welcome. Batteries, liquids, food, supplements, temperature-sensitive, hazardous or oversized items need acceptance and handling requirements confirmed before you ship.
For Shopify, Amazon, Walmart or another platform such as Amboras, tell us how orders and inventory are exchanged. The team confirms the connection or file workflow before onboarding; a platform name alone does not guarantee a supported integration.
How do I send inventory?
- Send your SKU list, dimensions, weights and carton/pallet count.
- Receive the written scope, rates and product-acceptance confirmation.
- Confirm account setup, labeling and receiving instructions with the team before dispatch.
- Send shipment details and tracking; agree the first prep job or order workflow.
Receiving location: 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087. Confirm inbound instructions before sending goods.
What about shipping and storage dimensions?
For a shipping estimate, send origin and destination ZIP codes, packed dimensions, weight, parcel count and desired delivery speed. Handling prices do not include carrier postage. Storage is charged only by carton or pallet. Bin and shelf storage is included in our standard pick-and-pack rate, with no separate charge. Send product dimensions and quantities so the team can confirm usable space, availability and the applicable carton or pallet storage rate in writing.
After you enquire: a real person from our Houston team replies within one business day, confirms any missing details and sends itemized pricing. You can ask for a written quote without booking a sales call. Unsure of volume? Select “Not sure yet” in the quote form.
Who uses an FBA prep center like ours
Most sellers who call us fall into one of three groups. First-time importers who just got a container of a new product landed at a Houston or Gulf Coast port and need it labeled and inspected before it ever touches Amazon. Growing sellers who outgrew doing FNSKU labels on a kitchen table and need a consistent, same-day process instead. And sellers switching away from a prep center that surprised them with fees for the poly bag, the label, or a "storage overage" nobody quoted up front. If any of those sound like you, the numbers below are the whole story — not a teaser rate that changes once you're onboarded.
What Amazon FBA prep costs at KAK
FBA prep is $0.75 per unit under 5 lb for full-service handling, with materials separate. FNSKU labeling, polybagging, bubble wrapping, and standard cartonization are included in that rate — there's no separate line item for the label or the poly bag. The only other costs that show up on an invoice are receiving and storage, and both rates are published below, not hidden in a PDF you have to request.
| Service | Rate | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| FBA unit prep | $0.75 / unit | FNSKU label, polybag, bubble wrap, cartonization |
| Receiving | $20/pallet ($5/carton) | Unload, count, and inspect inbound freight |
| Pallet storage | $25.00 / pallet, billed monthly | Climate-controlled, 24/7 monitored |
| Returns | $1.50 / return | Inspection included |
No minimums, no setup fees, no contracts — everything runs month-to-month. There's no setup fee.
What's actually in the $0.75
A lot of prep centers advertise a low per-unit rate, then bill separately for the poly bag, the label, or the bubble wrap. We don't split it out. The $0.75 covers material and labor for a standard unit: FNSKU label applied and verified, polybag with a suffocation warning where required, bubble wrap for fragile or glass items, and cartonization into Amazon-compliant case packs.
Container devanning, LTL freight into our dock, and white-glove unloading are also quoted per shipment, at negotiated carrier cost — no invented prices, just what the job actually runs once we see it.
Getting the prep right matters more than the dollar amount suggests. A missing FNSKU label, a mislabeled poly bag, or a carton that doesn't meet Amazon's packing spec can mean an inbound shipment gets flagged, delayed, or refused at the fulfillment center — which costs you more in lost sales velocity than any prep fee ever would. That's the actual job we're doing for $0.75 a unit: labeling, bagging, and cartonizing to Amazon's packing spec.
A worked example: launching 500 units
Here's what a first FBA shipment actually costs, using only the published rates above. Say you send 500 units on 4 pallets, and roughly 2 pallets' worth sits with us for a full month while the rest is already at Amazon.
| Line item | Calculation | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| FBA prep, 500 units | 500 × $0.75 | $375.00 |
| Receiving, 4 pallets | 4 × $20.00 | $80.00 |
| Storage, 2 pallets, 1 month | 2 pallets × 1 month × $25.00 | $50.00 |
| Total, month one | $505.00 |
That's $1.01 landed per unit before Amazon's own referral and fulfillment fees.
Answers to the questions sellers actually ask
Buyers sending us an RFQ ask a specific list of questions before they'll commit. Here are the direct answers, for FBA prep specifically.
- Minimums: none. We'll prep a single unit or a full container — same $0.75/unit rate either way.
- Setup, onboarding, or account fees: none. There's no setup fee.
- Contracts or cancellation penalties: none. Everything is month-to-month.
- Receiving cost and time-to-available: $20 per pallet ($5 per carton); inventory received before the 2pm CT cutoff is counted, inspected, and prepped the same business day.
- Storage billing basis: per pallet, billed monthly, climate-controlled and monitored 24/7 — you pay only for the fraction of the month you actually use.
- Lot and expiration tracking: available through our KAK WMS dashboard, useful for supplements, cosmetics, and anything with a shelf life.
- Peak-season surcharges: none, including Q4.
- Insurance: shipments are covered up to $500,000, and we're liable for our own handling errors.
- Support: call +1 832 759 1368 or email sales@kaksourcing.com, or reach us through our contact page. Walk-ins are welcome with 24 hours' notice, Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm CT.

Why sellers run FBA prep through Houston
KAK Sourcing has been prepping and fulfilling ecommerce inventory since 2024, out of a single 32,000 sqft facility at 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087. We're not a nationwide network with inconsistent quality between nodes — every unit that gets an FNSKU label here goes through the same team, in the same building. Founders Sohail Ahmed and Kanwar Khan have spent 7+ years building the DTC fulfillment infrastructure behind KAK. The rates on this page are locked through Q1 2027, so you can plan a launch budget around them without worrying about a mid-year increase.
Read seller reviews on Trustpilot, or compare the full rate card on our price list and pricing page. If you also sell direct-to-consumer, our 3PL warehouse service and storage pages cover FBM pick-pack-ship and pallet storage in more depth.
