Before you request a quote
Know the cost. Check the fit. Plan your first shipment.
Start with a small shipment or an established operation. There is no minimum volume. Tell us what you sell so we can confirm the handling, space and shipping you actually need.
What will my first month cost?
Example: 500 full-service FBA units under 5 lb × $0.75 = $375. If each needs a $0.20 polybag, add $100; one inbound pallet adds $20 and one full billable pallet-month adds $25. Total: $520 before outbound shipping or other requested work.
Examples use standard storage in the first three months. Long-stay pallet rates are $28/month in months 3–6 and $32/month after six months. Your written quote separates receiving, storage, handling, materials and shipping. Build your own estimate.
Why are there two handling prices?
Under 5 lb, Lean FBA is $0.50/unit and Lean FBM is $1.75/order when goods arrive pre-packed and ready to label. Full-service handling is $0.75/FBA unit or $2.00/FBM order; materials and postage are separate. These are service tiers, not automatic volume discounts.
Heavier items use different weight bands; over 15 lb or bulky items need a written quote. See the complete rate card.
Can you handle my products and platform?
Share your product type, packed dimensions and weight, sales platform and expected volume. Small batches and returns-only enquiries are welcome. Batteries, liquids, food, supplements, temperature-sensitive, hazardous or oversized items need acceptance and handling requirements confirmed before you ship.
For Shopify, Amazon, Walmart or another platform such as Amboras, tell us how orders and inventory are exchanged. The team confirms the connection or file workflow before onboarding; a platform name alone does not guarantee a supported integration.
How do I send inventory?
- Send your SKU list, dimensions, weights and carton/pallet count.
- Receive the written scope, rates and product-acceptance confirmation.
- Confirm account setup, labeling and receiving instructions with the team before dispatch.
- Send shipment details and tracking; agree the first prep job or order workflow.
Receiving location: 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087. Confirm inbound instructions before sending goods.
What about shipping and storage dimensions?
For a shipping estimate, send origin and destination ZIP codes, packed dimensions, weight, parcel count and desired delivery speed. Handling prices do not include carrier postage. Storage is charged only by carton or pallet. Bin and shelf storage is included in our standard pick-and-pack rate, with no separate charge. Send product dimensions and quantities so the team can confirm usable space, availability and the applicable carton or pallet storage rate in writing.
After you enquire: a real person from our Houston team replies within one business day, confirms any missing details and sends itemized pricing. You can ask for a written quote without booking a sales call. Unsure of volume? Select “Not sure yet” in the quote form.
What $0.75 a unit actually buys you
One flat rate — $0.75 per unit — covers FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, bubble wrapping for fragile items, and standard cartonization. That's the whole job, not a starting price. We don't charge extra for basic packaging materials, and we don't split "prep" into a stack of separate line items on your invoice the way a lot of prep centers do.
Our founders, Sohail Ahmed and Kanwar Khan, started KAK Sourcing out of Houston, and the warehouse has run since 2024. Seven years of building DTC fulfillment infrastructure later, we run a 32,000 sqft climate-controlled warehouse at 6117 Long Dr, Houston, TX 77087, monitored 24/7, and we serve 180+ ecommerce sellers. You can read what they say about us on Trustpilot.
| Service | Rate | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon FBA prep | $0.75/unit | Full-service FBA handling for units under 5 lb is $0.75/unit, including FNSKU labeling and prep labor. Materials are separate: polybag $0.20/unit and bubble wrap $0.20/unit when needed. Receiving, storage and outbound freight are separate. Lean label-ready units start at $0.50; heavier units use the published weight bands. |
| Receiving | $20/pallet ($5/carton) | Charged on every inbound |
| Pallet storage | $25/pallet, billed monthly | Climate-controlled; you pay only for the fraction of the month you use |
| Returns processing | $1.50/return | Inspection included |
Postage and carrier labels (USPS/UPS/FedEx) are passed through at our discounted rate, at cost, with no markup added.
What we don't charge you
Most FBA prep hubs make their real money on fees you don't see until the invoice lands — receiving fees, box fees, admin fees, a setup fee before you've shipped a single unit. We don't run that model.
- No minimum order quantity, minimum spend, or SKU count
- No setup fees
- Month-to-month — no contract
- No peak-season surcharges, Q4 included
- No markup on basic packaging materials at the $0.75/unit rate
Custom work is the exception, and we say so plainly: branded inserts, kitting, subscription-box assembly, container devanning, LTL freight, and white-glove handling are quoted per job, at negotiated carrier cost where freight is involved. We don't publish a flat number for those because the labor and freight vary by spec. Tell us what you need on our quote form and you'll have a real number within 24 hours.
What a 500-unit FBA launch actually costs
Say you're a new brand sending 500 units in on two pallets. Here's the real arithmetic, not a range.
| Line item | Calculation | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| FBA prep, 500 units | 500 × $0.75 | $375.00 |
| Receiving, 2 pallets | 2 × $20.00 | $40.00 |
| Storage, first month | 2 pallets × $25.00 | $50.00 |
| Total to launch | $465.00 |
That's the entire bill: no setup fee, no minimum-order penalty, no "account activation" line hiding in the fine print. Storage keeps running at $25 per pallet per month for as long as you hold inventory. Scale the prep line and the math stays linear: 2,000 units a month runs $1,500 in prep, 5,000 units runs $3,750, plus whatever receiving and storage your pallet count adds. The per-unit rate doesn't change whether you're on unit one or unit fifty thousand.
How fast your inventory becomes available, and what happens to it
Inventory received before our 2:00pm CT cutoff, Monday through Saturday, gets prepped the same day.
Every shipment we handle is covered up to $500,000 in insurance, and we're fully liable for our own handling errors. You can track lot numbers and expiration dates through our system on request, and see real-time inventory counts on the KAK WMS dashboard instead of calling to ask what's on the shelf.
Prefer to drop inventory off yourself rather than ship it in? Walk-ins are welcome with 24 hours' notice, Monday through Saturday, 9am–6pm CT, at our Houston facility.
Kitting, bundling, and multi-item prep
Need units kitted or bundled ahead of time, or subscription-box assembly with custom inserts or thank-you cards? That's available — it's custom-quoted because the labor scales with the build, and we're not going to invent a number for it here. Tell us the spec and we'll get you a real quote in 24 hours. On the FBM/DTC side, bundles and multi-packs ship at the flat per-order rate, with no forced preassembly you didn't ask for.
For freight-scale inbound — container devanning, LTL freight, white-glove receiving — we quote per shipment at negotiated carrier cost. Send the details through our quote form or the full 3PL warehouse service page for how it fits with ongoing fulfillment.
Returns, tracking, and what happens when something goes wrong
Returns are processed at $1.50 per return, inspection included. If you need lot-number or expiration-date tracking on inbound inventory — common for supplements, cosmetics, and food-adjacent products — we support it on request through our WMS, alongside real-time stock counts.
If anything's off with a shipment, you reach a person: +1 832 759 1368 or sales@kaksourcing.com.
